Windows 95/98, NT4: First of all correct the windows date format.
Open settings/the control panel, regional settings, date, short date format.
The year should be yyyy and not yy! (2k oblige)
Windows XP: it is probably better to right click on the file setup.exe, to choose "properties/compatibility" and select "Windows NT 4" as "compatibility mode". After installing you should do the same with the file "c:\program files\borland\paradox runtime\pdxrwin32.exe" (see image below) .
Windows 2000: (not necessary just for testing a few times)after installing, copy the program acompact.exe from the w2000 CD-Rom to your PC (put it free in C:\), 2click it , browes for the file "c:\program files\borland\paradox runtime\pdxrwin32.exe" and choose to run it always as under Window NT4, service pack 4 or 5
If you install from the CD-Rom: insert your CD-Rom and the install
program should be launch automatically. Otherwise double click on the CD-Rom
icon in "my computer", double click on "disk1" and double click on
install.exe or setup.exe.
If you install from Internet:
-Create a new folder on your system: double click on "my computer"
in the left upper corner, double click on "c:\", from the menu select "new"
and then "folder". A folder called "New Folder" is now at the bottom of
the list. To rename the folder slowly double click on the text "New Folder".
Enter any name you like (for example "mydir" or "tucsoft install"..
-Downloads the five files (disk1.exe, disk2.exe...) in the new folder
(when you click on disk1.exe your browser will ask you to open or
save on disk, choose "save on disk" and show your new directory as the
place to download the file).
-Double click on disk1.exe, disk2.exe,...,disk5.exe.
-Double click on the file setup.exe and follow instructions. We suggest
you to use the path proposed by the setup program (c:\program files\tucsoft).
-To start Hotel Manager press windows button "start" and choose the
item "Hotel Manager". The temporary password is "Manager". Read
the manual for further instruction.
Network installation:
proceed as described above. The install program will create a folder
called TucSoft (c:\program files\TucSoft) which contains three other folders:
data, control and Hotel Manager. Copy (do not cut) the folders "data" and
"control" in a folder on a network drive (i.e. f:\tucSoft\).
Launch the program, from the menu "other" "change path" and type the
new path.
Close the program. Double click on c:\program files\borland\common
files\bde\bdecfg32.exe. From the driver name list choose paradox, from
parameters set net dir to a path accessible to all users (i.e. f:\tucSoft\control).
